The Winx at the Nuraghe Barumini
The Winx brought their magic to Sardinia through the miniseries Winx Club - The Magic of Italy, consisting of eight episodes. This unique series was produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with the aim of telling children around the world about the wonders of Italy.
In eight enthralling episodes, TV's most famous fairies visit various Italian locations to fulfil their mission: to find the precious magic gems and reveal the lesser-known beauties of the Belpaese to the world. The series is an initiative to highlight the great historical, cultural and naturalistic wealth of Italy, promoting often neglected but fascinating places.
In the story, the fairies visit emblematic places such as the Su Nuraxi Barumini Archaeological Area, a Unesco heritage site, and the Castello della Marmilla in Las Plassas. The latter is a medieval fortress located in the centre of Marmilla, with legends that tell of the stay of the judge Mariano IV and perhaps also of his daughter, the mythical giudicessa Eleonora D'Arborea. Their mission leads them to discover and interpret the rich Sardinian Middle Ages and its disputes.
