The Protected Marine Area of Tavolara - Punta Coda Cavallo was established in 2003 and extends over the municipal territories of Olbia, Loiri Porto San Paolo and San Teodoro. The MPA was created with the aim of protecting, safeguarding and preserving the marine area concerned, together with the dissemination of the area's ecological importance. For the purpose of preserving the area, a differentiation of zones was introduced, with different rules and the possibility of carrying out or not carrying out human activities there
