The training ship Amerigo Vespucci at Golfo Aranci

The Italian Navy's training ship Amerigo Vespucci arrived at Golfo Aranci this afternoon, 7 August 2020. As well as attracting the attention of bathers and people walking along the Promenade, it also attracted nearby boats, including ours. We took a few photos and shot a few short videos during the launch.

Around 6 p.m. the Amerigo Vespucci was already moving away from the coast.

It was impossible to stand still and look at it from afar, so we moved closer to admire it from all possible angles!

Up close, its majesty becomes even more overwhelming and leaves no room for uncertainty:

.- - . .-. .. -. - / ...- . ... .-. ..- -.-. -.-. .. / ... .. . - . / .-.. .- / -. .- ...- . / .-. .. ..- / -... . .-.. .-.. .- / -.. . .-.. / - - -. -.. -

which translated from Morse code means: Amerigo Vespucci you are the most beautiful ship in the world!

Those who had the pleasure of boarding it were certainly overwhelmed by the emotion of being on something unique and unrepeatable.

We hope that next year - without COVID - the ship will reopen its doors to the public. Given their motto "not those who begin, but those who persevere"there is no doubt that everything will return to the same and better than before.

Morse code message for the Vespucci:
